FAQs
-
Both options are valuable. A prenatal visit can help you prepare, create a plan for breastfeeding, and feel confident before your baby arrives. After baby is born, a consult providers personalized feeding evaluation and support in real-time. It’s ideal to do a prenatal consult to establish a relationship with your lactation care provider before delivery, and then do an initial postpartum consult with them within the first week after baby is born.
-
We help with latch pain, sore nipples, navigating tongue and lip tie, low milk supply, oversupply, pumping and bottle feeding, returning to work, mastitis or plugged ducts, and weaning—among many other concerns.
-
Most initial visits last about 90 minutes, giving us time for assessment, feeding observation, and a personalized care plan. Follow-ups are usually shorter, about 60 minutes, although can go the full 90 minutes if needed.
-

-
Both options are available. Lactation support visits are often much more comprehensive when we meet in person, although certain things like planning to return to work, starting solids, upcoming travel, or weaning are easily done via telehealth.
-
Absolutely. We provide guidance on pumps, flange fitting, schedules, milk storage, bottle introduction, and more. We also have a variety of pump flanges and bottle types in the office so we can see what works best for you and your baby before you purchase your own.

We offer both options! One-on-one visits provide personalized support, while our online group program called the Mother’s Milk Academy is a great way to prepare for breastfeeding during pregnancy, recieve support virtually via weekly group calls, and connect with other postpartum moms like you.
-
